Adding Augmented Chords Tutorial

This is a short tutorial on adding augmented chords to your progression.

There are a number of ways to introduce augmented chords into a progression.

The first way is to simply click on the TRIADS button

which will open a drop-down menu with augmented chords

This will change the scale chords ot augmented scale chords depending on the extension that you choose (7th, 9th, 11th, or 13th).

I have chosen 9ths in this example.

Then simply drag the chords you want into your progression.

The second method (which introduces more chords with options for invertions etc.) is to use the CHORD page by clicking on the CHORD button.

This opens the CHORD page

At the top of the page are suggestions of variations, including some extensions, of the chord that is in the block with a yellow border.

To get the suggestions for the chord in any block click on the yellow triangle in the top right-hand corner.

I have chosen the E min chord.

Note the grey scroll bar below the suggestions.

You can also type the chord name into the CHORD SEARCH BOX which will bring up suggestions for that chord. I typed in F maj

Again note the grey scroll bar below the suggestions.

There is a short tutorial on entering custom chords here.
