Can Scaler be used in Reason 12 as a Player?

Hi,

Is it possible to use Scaler 2 as a ‘player’ in Reason 12? I know it can be used as an instrument but I want it to drive other synths instead.

No, Reason doesn’t allow for MIDI to be transmitted that way. You can only Drag and Drop MIDI from Scaler to a MIDI/Instrument track as far as I know.

Scaler 2.5 and Reason 12

I’ve seen some posts about how Scaler isn’t working with Propellerheads Reason. I found the following works just fine for me - if I’m using Reason as a VST plugin within Reaper (the same may be true of other DAWs): Create an instrument track and load up the Reason rack plugin. Choose the instrument you want Create a new track for the Scaler plugin. Route the output from that track to the instrument track created in step 1. I have tried it and it works, but it creates too much latency and I have opted for drag & drop in Reason

I have achieved this. If you have a free version of ableton live lite ( most hardware comes with it ) and a copy of loop midi, you can send the midi out of reason, through ableton with scaler and back into reason.
It’s quite satisfying. Let me know if you would like a greater explaination. I might do a youtube video on it.
