Can you create a simple Pop song with Scaler? Have you?

In 2021 I did a challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. The challenge set was to learn, sing and record a song every day in 2021.

At the end of 2020, the only DAW/door I’d heard of was the one I opened. Learning was a steep curve but great fun, and the result was over half a million hits and a good donation by the two companies sponsoring.

It went so well that I was asked if I could do another challenge. They came up with the idea of an original song every week in 2023.

Now I’m no great songwriter, so I need help. I needed something that would give me the flexibility and creativity to produce simple songs. I’m not looking for numbers ones, just something that is ok… lift music… if you know what I mean.

This is how I arrived at Scaler. I’ve looked around at many options, but I liked the feel of Scaler.

However, someone suggested Band In a Box would be a better option, which got me thinking.

Is there anyone using Scaler that has created a simple song? Or reproduced a well-known song.

Is Scaler the right bit of software?

Can Scaler meet my needs?

A song a day for a year!? That’s commitment. I did FAWM once (14 songs in a month) and that was hard enough.

For cranking out elevator music nothing beats BIAB. You can create a new song with the press of a single button, literally!

With this latest update Scaler is closing the gap on BIAB though. Not one click yet but going in that direction.

Having said that I haven’t used BIAB in years and have used Scaler almost daily since I’ve had it.

HI Bagatell

I’m having a look at BIAB and I’ll let you know how it goes.

So, you are now a big Scaler user and you have created songs. You’ve done the FAWN challenge. What type of music do you focus on? Any suggestions for building a song in Scaler welcome.

Scaler update really nice!

Whatever takes my fancy. I’m not a 'producer´ and I don’t want fame or need a fortune.

If you had a template setup with half a dozen Scalers you could bang out a tune every ten minutes or so. You’re not going to make a full blown orchestral template just with scaler but you could for rock, pop or EDM.

Stream Computer guitar, bass & Scaler 2.7 by Kimmo Kolehmainen | Listen online for free on SoundCloud, you can do it. I just made a short idea. I used Scaler and external programs, i.e. sounds and other nice things. It’s a guitar-oriented idea, with Scaler as the host of the idea in the background. And almost everything in that short clip.

Hi Alfie

please look here…

Hi Claudio and thanks for the link… Lot’s there for me to work through. :+1:

Thanks also TMacD for giving search idea! :+1:
