In 2021 I did a challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. The challenge set was to learn, sing and record a song every day in 2021.
At the end of 2020, the only DAW/door I’d heard of was the one I opened. Learning was a steep curve but great fun, and the result was over half a million hits and a good donation by the two companies sponsoring.
It went so well that I was asked if I could do another challenge. They came up with the idea of an original song every week in 2023.
Now I’m no great songwriter, so I need help. I needed something that would give me the flexibility and creativity to produce simple songs. I’m not looking for numbers ones, just something that is ok… lift music… if you know what I mean.
This is how I arrived at Scaler. I’ve looked around at many options, but I liked the feel of Scaler.
However, someone suggested Band In a Box would be a better option, which got me thinking.
Is there anyone using Scaler that has created a simple song? Or reproduced a well-known song.
Is Scaler the right bit of software?
Can Scaler meet my needs?
Mac OS 12.6 Monterey MacBook Pro M1
Logic Pro 10.7.4
I’m having a look at BIAB and I’ll let you know how it goes.
So, you are now a big Scaler user and you have created songs. You’ve done the FAWN challenge. What type of music do you focus on? Any suggestions for building a song in Scaler welcome.
Whatever takes my fancy. I’m not a 'producer´ and I don’t want fame or need a fortune.
If you had a template setup with half a dozen Scalers you could bang out a tune every ten minutes or so. You’re not going to make a full blown orchestral template just with scaler but you could for rock, pop or EDM.
