Copying detected chords Scaler 2 Audio to Scaler 2 Midi

Newbie here , so please go easy if I am asking a stupid question.

My DAW is Ableton Live 12.

I have used Scaler 2 Audio to detect chords from an Audio input.
How then do I Copy and Paste the detected Chords into a Scaler 2 Midi?

I hope I have expressed by query clearly and correctly .

Hello Moondog and welcome to the forum.

This is pretty easy to do. Just use the Sync option in Scaler.

  1. Start with a track with Scaler Audio. Detect chords and drag them to the section C:

  2. Create a track with Scaler 2 (not audio). So far do nothing except keeping it open (to see the magic operating  )

  3. Go back to Scaler Audio track. Select the chords you want to transfer to Scaler.
Click on the Scaler logo (1) and select the option Sync (2).

  4. On the new screen you should see several sync options.
Click on the check box of the last one (1) to select LIVE SYNC - PROGRESSION BUILDER
    (CHORDS, VOICING, TIMINGS).
Once selected, click on the START LIVE SYNC (2)

After a few moments (the cursor will be turning), you will see your progression copied to Scaler 2.
Ignore LEADER in Scaler Audio and FOLLOW texts displayed inScaler 2. They are used for full live sync. As I did several tests before taking screen shots they were there at the moment of the capture.

The last step: In my case, I needed to press Esc to go out of the Scaler Audio, then reselect it in its track. Button STOP LIVE SYNC - ALL will appear. Click on it.

When this button disappears and SYNC button appers, pres Esc on your keyboard and that’s it.

Dear Miki,

Thank you so much for your kind reply and detailed explanation.
Thanks to your instructions I have manged to achieve what I wanted to do.

One more (simple) question… How to you keep two instance of Scaler open (and visualized)?

In my case, when i use one Scaler the other closes and vice versa (probably this is an Ableton issue)

Thank you again for your time and patience.

Robbie

Yes, there is an option in Ableton Live to have all plugins showed, and possibly armed
I don’t use AL anymore, but I had it until one month ago

I think this is an Ableton issue but if anyone has a solution I too would be interested to learn it

Ed66…

In Ableton : Options > Settings > Plug-Ins > Plug-In Windows >

Multiple Plug-In Windows : ON
Auto Hide Plug-In Windows OFF

Silly me, thank you @Moondog

I am glad that this worked for you. I am Reaper user and my experience with Ableton is limited to about 15 minutes max, years ago, but I was sure that our friends on this forum, Ableton users, would help you. This is a great community.
