If you use Multi-Out and a Performance Scaler sends notes to MIDI channels as explained in the OM – All notes go to MIDI channel 1, then the pitches are distributed, lowest to highest starting with MIDI Channel 2.
In Cubase Pro the pitches may be assigned to instances single channel VST Instruments.
By using the Input Transformer it is possible to control which notes are played by which instrument and groups of notes may be played by the same instrument. Two examples.
