When I play in the the Bind A midi setting, where you can play single notes and it plays the progressions. the midi data come out to a single note. How can I have it export the actually progressions to the melody and not the single trigger note.
There is a different answer depending on which DAW you are using:
Some DAW allow you to route MIDI to another channel and record the notes there (which records the chords notes and note the trigger notes), Studio One for example:
To control external instruments within Studio One you must use Scaler as a VST plugin and route Scaler’s MIDI output onto the track of the instrument you wish to control.
Load Scaler VST onto an instrument track and the instrument you wish to control on a second track.
Drag the track window down to show all the MIDI selection boxes.
In the MIDI input section, select Scaler as the “Instrument Input” and select MIDI Output 1 as the “Instrument Channel”…
Other DAW might have a way to capture or “freeze” the MIDI, this is the case in Logic for example:
I load a chord set and start playing chord progressions, example:
When I have something I like I hit record on Logic, the region looks like this:
All good until I want to see the chord’s actual MIDI notes in my region. Now I have to drag chosen chords to make a new chord set and use the export MIDI button to drag MIDI file to my region:
This gives me all chord notes but that’s not my performance, its all same length. I have to work a lot with this to get that …
