Please make it possible to spread playable chord notes through two octaves instead of just one… i know there is some way of doing that but an easier way of setting that up with just a few clicks would be great
When will there be a beta for us to try? @davide
super inspiring, I hope it comes soon
Just checking in. There was a rumour that PB was in trouble, I hope that is not the case & all is well.
Please explain? In trouble for what ?
I saw on a news channel they are in money troubles. The source was one of the devs from Audio Damage saying they are not paying up. of course this could be untrue.
They are owned by a US company, Beatport, themselves owned by a group called Livestyle. So its probable that if PIB were going down, it would be because of the failure of their parents, and there would potentially be more news around.
What’s not clear is who owns the IP of Scaler. PIB might just have an agent role, or they might have some stake in Scaler. My guess is that Davide would have the some form of lien on the product, if not tied up.
First I have heard of such a thing. No issues from Scaler’s perspective, I regularly communicate with the PIB seniors and things seem very well there!
Scaler is safe and tightly protected. The future is wonderful. May it arrive soon!!!
Looks like the rumour is not true. PIB were late with some payments once, due to an error in their payment processing. Reddit thread here:
Could Plugin Boutique be on the verge of going out of business?? : r/ableton
Of course, we’d be the last to know if there was a problem!
On a related note, I’d be much happier to be able to buy Scaler 2 directly from the Scaler 2 website or from other retailers rather than using PIB. PIB are not a company I particularly like or trust and the cockup that is called Beatport has reinforced that view. Other opinions are available…
FYI our products are now available from our own website. All of our products over the next year will be available exclusive at scalermusic.com and Plugin Boutique.
That’s excellent news Davide, and a good decision imo.
It’s likely my upgrade to Scaler 3 will come from your new shop
One suggestion - increase the payment options. In particular, add PayPal and maybe stuff like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Can’t wait to see what Scaler 3 brings. It must be very close now.
Greetings @davide
Apologies if the question has already been asked:
Is there any specific thing one needs to do to create an accounts for scalermusic.com if they initially purchased your products through Plugin Boutique?
I just want to make sure that what I already own is acknowledged from the new site.
Hi @sfrazier For now you can only create an account on scalermusic.com by purchasing products from the site. This will change when new releases in the New Year will need to be registered at scalermusic.com so all users will then have an account upon registration.
PS - Irrespective of place of purchase, we handle licensing so we have a record of our users.
Copy that @davide. So until I make a purchase, there is no need (or possibility) for me to create an account.
Though in the New Year, it seems I might just have an outstanding reason to create that account.
So no version 3 in 2024 last quarter?
This is certainly why Santa rejected my Xmas letter
Santa is still reading through his letters . In the meantime , try learning some music theory , its good fun!
I am such a huge fan of Scaler 2 and can’t wait for version 3. Do we have an ETA yet?
