I made a very nice performance in Scalar 2, but when I MIDI Capture it and drag it into Logic Pro, then turn DAW Sync Off, the voicings from the DAW sound completely different.
But this is only the first strange thing.
There’s also an odd part where the note voicings are very high, but when I isolate the MIDI notes in question, they’re playing something lower. Meaning I don’t actually know where the higher octave notes are coming from!
The voicings are different, but there are also notes that can’t be accounted for in the MIDI roll. Unless I’m going crazy, which is definitely possible.
So I binded C, but then it plays something different. This is such a gorgeous tool, but even after watching the first 3 tutorial videos I still seem to be confused about how it works.
When I press Play in Section C it plays just how I like it! I’m just trying to get that to play from the MIDI roll, so I can edit as needed.
The best practice to have help is also uploading the Scaler status here
So Davide and/or others can implement it in their systems, and understand what you were really doing with it
The video is very stylish nowadays, but less informative
To export the Scaler status, you have to right-click on the blue S icon top left, then select Export
You are performing a performance! That is what I meant to say in my earlier post. Turn off Performance once you have dragged the midi out and it will sound the same.
Ah, wonderful! Thanks, Davide! I was hoping it was something subtle. This is such a cool program. To be perfectly honest I still haven’t wrapped my mind around 90% of of it. Thanks so much for the help!
