Possible to not have the piano GUI hold sustain pedal notes ? But still have the sound of pedal notes sustain

Hello, is it possible to have the GUI not HOLD the sustain notes, but we still get the sound of them sustained. This way maybe when he improvise piano, we can still get the lush sound of sustain but the GUI is clean as it shows only the notes actually hold by fingers ?
