Hi. I can’t get Scaler 2 to work with an external VST in Studio One 6. I’ve followed every tutorial I can find, which basically says to select Scaler as input in the VST, but I get the sound I set in Scaler and not the sound of the external VST. The VST is also keyboard mute.
Maybe I’m missing something?
Thanks

I think there is a setting in Studio One that escapes me, now I tried it in Cubase 12 and it was easy to get it working
Hi @Syd
Welcome to the forum.
You can silence the Scaler on-board sounds by selecting OFF. To do this click on the instrument menu
and select OFF from the drop down menu
Although I don’t use Studio One I assume that you have two tracks, one with Scaler on it and one for your external VSTi. Simply route the midi out from the Scaler track into the VSTi track and it should play,
Hope this helps
Thanks @ed66.
Yes, I have two tracks. I also tried to make Scaler silent but I still can’t hear the sound of the external Vst.
Have you tried using a midi keyboard to play the instrument? If this works you may have an issue with midi routing. There are some Studio One users on the forum who may be able to give you more focussed advice on this issue.
Yes, I have a midi keyboard and I think it’s just a midi routing problem. I’ll try in the Studio One forum then.
Thanks a lot.
Now it works, probably the problem is that I was using the AU version of Scaler. On their site I found this: “Be sure to use the VST2 or VST3 version of Scaler, as the AU plug-in format does not support multi-channel MIDI output.”.
Thanks ed66
