Scaler 2 demo 2.0.5 crashes Ableton 10

Watched the videos and Scaler 2 is just what I’ve been looking for. Downloaded demo (2.0.5) into Ableton Suite 10.1.14 and it crashes every time I try to open it and takes Ableton down with it! I have tried un-installing and re-installing into standard rather than custom directory but no change.

Has anyone got this running in Ableton Suite 10.1.14? Any tips on how to troubleshoot issue?

I’d really like this to work for me.

Hi @bamforp,

sorry you are experiencing this, could you check if Scaler 2 is installed in the default location:

VST2 should be under C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins
VST3 should be under C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

…and the sounds should be located in the public documents of your computer:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Plugin Boutique\Scaler2\Sounds

Yes - I have checked and all the files are in the correct directories.

Could you try this:

  • Quit your DAW, navigate to this folder:
    • C:\Users[ username ]\AppData\Roaming\Plugin Boutique\Scaler2
  • Delete the Scaler2.settings file and try to relaunch Scaler
