I don’t know in other countries, but here in Italy I know many good photographers that are more or less on the breadline, and gain money with other activities, like writing books, organizing workshops, etc.
Moreover, if you have to sell something, you must do what a broad public wants, attend socials that I hate, and other things that I don’t like so much, and you also loose the freedom to experiment and doing what you want… just like in music BTW

The problem is that I don’t have a suitable voice…
I am a baritone

I had pretty good voice, now I don’t have vocal range any more 
So, I stopped singing. But these days I experiment with Vocalizer, so my voice is not that obvious. And I can change the pitch. too
