Want to trigger scaler performance pads from some physical pads on keyboard controller

How to trigger scaler performance pads from some physical pads on keyboard controller. Mainly want to do this because when I open the scaler GUI it causes CPU to max out no matter how many plug-ins I have running. Sometimes if gui is not open it will allow things to run without crashing overloading ruining my recording/performance. Maybe a midi learn for the pads so I can trigger them? Or their respective midi note numbers… thanks…

This is on iOS using M1 processor. But but having worse results on the older processors for sure my older processes unless was in standalone…

Hi @Waymusic. If you bind one of Scaler’s sections e.g. ‘C’ using the bind button on the right hand side, the chords from that pattern will be mapped to the white keys starting at C2. You should be able to trigger these easily with the pads on a MIDI controller, assuming the pads are sending the correct notes.

However to do this you will need to open the Scaler 2 GUI. It is a little concerning to hear you’re unable to do this without CPU issues. We have tested Scaler 2 iOS on a variety of iPads including a 4th gen iPad Air, as well as an M1 iPad Air and haven’t had any issues. So make sure you have updated to the latest version.

Which iOS host are you using e.g. AUM? There is another thread with users reporting sluggish behaviour on iOS hosts that we are investigating but have not been able to reproduce if you want to have a read through and see if this lines up with what you’re seeing.
