For ease of understanding, I use C major as an example.
For example, VII Bdim in C major often becomes
7th major (subdominant) or 7th flat major (Napoli chord)
If you can, add the frequently used drop 6 (blocking termination) and drop 2 (Naples)
This will make everything more convenient.
