Compatibility with Chipsynth SFC

When ever i route scaler 2 midi to this vsti, I lose the ability to play chords, as if its stuck playing 1 voice. I’ve never had this happen with other vst instruments i have used scaler with.

I have tried turning midi mode in chipsynth sfc to mono, poly, and mpe to no avail.

Hi @DonKongLapazoulip

Welcome to the forum.

To help understand the issue can you supply more information about your environment, please: i.e. DAW, DAW version, OS version, Scaler version. If you can include a screenshot of Scaler and export and upload the Scaler State this would also help.

Many thanks

Thank you!

I am running Windows 10 Cubase Elements 13, Scaler 2.9.1.

Hi @DonKongLapazoulip

Thank you for the screenshot and the state.

I notice that you don’t appear to have populated Section C with any chords. Although the scale in Section B will output midi I would suggest copying the chords into Section C and then trying again. If this doesn’t work the issue may be how midi is being routed in Cubase.

Hope this helps

I’m using it more for improvising. The audio playback only gives me the voice of the note last depressed in a chord. Never all notes at once. The best I can do is ignore the sound and just play, then copy the midi over from scaler channel to the synth.

All othet vst instruments I’ve tried play multiple voices at once if set as such. But not for chipsyth for some reason.

Thank you.

For anybody reading. I was able to solve the problem by disabling the vst3 version in plugin manager so that it defaults to vst2 version. That ones works fine. Hope this finds anybody who needs it!
