Hi folks
some time ago I made a micro-tutorial about driving a brass with UJAM Dandy bass
I tried the same trick with Bitwig and I found it didn’t work
I googled, and I found that many UJAM plugins don’t have the Direct MIDI-out feature, and yet I used it in Ableton Live: strange
well, some days ago I downloaded DODO 2 that is a rela-time audio-to-MIDI tool, so I tested it, and it worked, even if not perfectly
I drop this micro-tutorial anyway, because somebody may find it useful in other situations
Below is the routing: the bass is in a track and DODO 2 follows it
You can drive the bass with Scaler, your keyboard, etc.
The output doesn’t matter, so you can even select No output instead of Master
and now put the instrument to drive (in this case I used an AAS Player brass
) in another track and set UJAM Mellow bass as the input
Not all UJAM bass articulations were sent, so I think the trick can be more useful for a synth than a brass, but I hope that somebody else find a better way to use DODO 2 in this scenario
