How to play midi file with Scaler 2 plugin in Audacity

After I open a midi file with Audacity, I can choose ScalerAudio 2 for Generation.
But after ScalerAudio 2 poup the main Window, I can’t play that midi file in Audacity, because Scaler Audio 2 is the toppest winodws. What’s the solution for ScalerAudio 2 to detect then suggest the chord?

Hi @jiangwy Welcome to the community. There’s a host of great videos online that can help you with your journey in Scaler 2. There is also a comprehensive Official Course too. Scaler Audio 2 is for detecting incoming audio, Scaler 2 VST/AU can detect Midi. I think your question is how to route audio or midi via Audacity. I am not too sure as I don’t use Audacity but it would be the same as any other DAW.

I see only ScalerAudio 2, no Scaler 2 VST/AU. Whether the evaluation version doesn’t include it?

As far as I am aware Audacity does not support VST instruments, just VST audio effects. So you may need to explore some other DAW options if you’d like to make use of virtual instruments like Scaler 2.

I’ve download Studion One, and will evaluate it with Scaler 2. If it can wok. I will buy both.

Audacity doesn’t support VST instruments like Scaler 2, only VST effects. To use Scaler 2, try a different DAW that supports VST instruments, such as Studio One.
