In keys-lock, mapping locked keys to convenient extra chords

Hi All, that’s an easy one, to the point that I expected that it was possible already but could not find out how.

Imagine I’m playing in D maj but I want to use a few extra chords for tension, e.g. A# dim to go from A maj (V) to B min (vi).

With the current Scaler, I believe that the only option I have is to put A# dim as the 8th chord in my pattern…

… but the obvious thing to do instead would be to play A# dim using one of the available black keys! Specifically, on G# that is in the middle between the keys I need to use to play A maj and B min.

Thanks,

G.

I’m trying to do the same thing.

Unfortunately that’s not how it works. You can map chromatic and use black and white keys but you would need that for the whole pattern meaning you can’t choose just one black key. What you could do is put your alt chords in a new pattern - Link the patterns by lassoing patterns 1 and 2 (or however many)
So your Main chords are pattern 1 and alts are a few of pattern 2.

Something like below.
