Live Sync vs Sync: Workflow Suggestions?

Hi all. Looking for some tips about when you use Sync and when you use Live Sync in your composition workflow.

Live Sync is pretty miraculous when you’re testing progressions and melodic ideas aligned to them. And it’s great for trying out arrangements, too, I find - things like testing different rhythms against each other, e.g. But I’ve been finding myself chafing at how easy it is to “break” Live Sync by introducing chord inversions and other variations in edit mode.

So that made me wonder how the experts in here are using the various permutations of Sync and Live Sync for greatest effectiveness?
