I am using LogicPro 10.7.9 and the AUinst and AU midi control FX version of Scaler crashes during scanning validation and will not load for use. Only the AUmfx version is working.
Is this a known issue and any fix on the horizon or some work around?
No issues on our end that is the exact setup we use. Have you tried restarting your machine and then try rescanning? Or even reinstalling Scaler 2 before you restart? If all of that doesn’t work then please pass on more info, Mac specs, Mac OS version etc.

Before I pass this on to the devs can you install 2.8.1 and see if it passes? It’s exactly the same version sans the rent to own or Beatport studio access. You can do so safely if you bought it outright (not rent to own or Beatport access). You can get 2.8.1 from your account at PIB (dropdown menu on versions)
Looking at your screenshot it seems you may have a corrupted cache given your other plugs seem to be struggling. Try this for a full rescan:
To get Logic to completely rescan your AudioUnit plugins, remove this file /Users/[YOUR USER]/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/com.apple.audiounits.cache
Hold option key down while in the Finder->Go menu to get Library to show up. Upon restarting Logic, it will rescan everything from scratch in your AudioUnit (component) plugin directory.
I have 3000 plugs and only half a dozen failed in LogicPro, not sure what you mean by my other plugins have problems, they are nearly all working fine except for a couple that I should remove from my system cause they are basically defunct in any of my daw, plus I already tried to reset the cache and build it again…same issue.

Thanks for sending 2.8.1. that did pass validation manually…and then after that I was able to upgrade to 2.8.2 successfully so guess I’m good for now.
