ScalerAudio 2 and Audacity

Today I haave a notice from Audacity software to upgrade to version 3.5. I did.

Then - I noticed that under the Generate tab in Audacity is a listed item named ScalerAudio2. I clicked on it and iit opened Scaler sure enough.

Question - can someone explain the connection between Scaler 2 and Audacity 3.5 and how it is suppoed to work?
Thanks.

Hey Rembi
Scaler Audio is effectively Scaler’s audio detection rendered as an audio effect. Audacity probably recognized it when it did a scan of your VSTs. As I understand it, it is designed for musicians/producrers wanting to have a dedicated chord detection plugin on an audio track. It does not actually “effect” the audio signal…as far as I understand.
