I work in Logic - I have it on both my Mac Studio (desktop) and the mobile version on my iPad.
When I travel I bring a small midi controller and an ipad. If I use scaler in an iPad project and do any chord detection, the detected chords show up fine on the iPad project, but when I get home and transfer the project to the desktop, the scaler app appears but the detected chords are lost.
Not sure why - could be that the iPad scaler version is not the same as the desktop version.
Hi @Phildo. In our testing Logic desktop projects can be transferred to Logic on iPad which will retain all of Scaler 2’s settings, however it appears that moving the other way from iPad to desktop does not. So the Scaler 2 plugin shows an empty State on desktop.
We will need to investigate why this is not happening and whilst this isn’t planned for any imminent Scaler 2 updates, there is a major overhaul of Scaler in the works due later this year where this will certainly be addressed.
For the time being, one workaround would be to manually export the State of Scaler 2 on your iPad as an .xml file. You can save this file to iCloud so it is accessible from iPad and desktop, then load the State file into the empty instance of Scaler 2 on desktop. An extra step I know, however it is a very effective interim solution until the next major Scaler update.
